Meeting with TalentCorp

Talent Corporation
Malaysia (TalentCorp) is a unit under the Prime Minister's
Department specially designed to initiate and facilitate initiatives
that will help the country meet its talent needs, by working closely
and building partnerships with leading companies and Government
agencies (see www.talentcorp.com.my).
The purpose of this
meeting with KITA is for TalentCorp to understand and solicit feedback from
the industries in KHTP on matters pertaining to attraction and
retention of talents (local and foreign) and concurrently introduce
their products and services which they are offering that include :
Nurturing
Malaysians:
Initiatives planned
that will support to nurture Malaysians talents include:

Upskilling
programmes for Malaysians

Improving the
public scholarship system (such as the plan to enable Malaysian
Government scholars to transfer their bond to Malaysian
companies).

Improving
university curricula so graduates are more industry-ready.

Networking
opportunities for top talents to link up with critical
industries.

Setting up
sectoral working groups to engage both industry and Government
agencies in addressing talent requirements
Returning to
Malaysia:
Returning Expert
Programme (REP) - a programme to attract and assist returning
Malaysian experts to transfer and relocate back to Malaysia.
Expatriates:
The Residence Pass
(RP) is an initiative offered to highly qualified expatriates
seeking to continue living and working in Malaysia on a long-term
basis.
