SilTerra Wins Prestigious Product Excellence Award


Kuala Lumpur, March 25, 2010 – SilTerra Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. has been selected as the winner of the Product Excellence Award 2009. This award was presented at the Prime Minister's Industry Excellence Awards 2009 Ceremony organized by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The CEO of SilTerra, Dr. Kamarulzaman Mohamed Zin, received the award on behalf of SilTerra.

This award is in recognition of SilTerra's leadership position and innovativeness for the Display Driver Integrated Chip (DDI), which is based on its High Voltage Technology (http://www.silterra.com/technology_highvoltage.html). SilTerra fabricates these devices for the global market in its wafer foundry in Kulim Hi-Tech Park.

The evaluation on the award recipient was conducted earlier by a technical committee consisting experts from various government agencies and the private sector. The judging process evaluated various aspects which included: Product Performance and Quality, Technological Content, Local Content, Socio-Economic Impact and Product Achievement/Recognition. SilTerra was competing in Category 4 - a category for local companies with annual sales above RM100 Million or foreign companies incorporated in Malaysia.
